Safety
A staff member in trouble holds the badge, or the red button in the app, and the people the hotel chose are paged with their name and, where the hotel uses zones, where they are.
Raising an alert
Hold the badge button while wearing it. The buzzing builds over the hold; one long, strong buzz with fast red flashing means the alert is out. Letting go earlier sends nothing, so an accidental press costs nothing. The app's Safety tab has the same hold, in red.
Who is paged
The general manager chooses the responders on the Safety tab. Until a hotel chooses, the default is the managers and the front office. Responders see the alert as a takeover on their phone, with the person's name, the time and, with zones, their last known zone and how many floors away each responder is.
Responding
A responder marks that they are on their way or that the situation is handled. Everyone paged sees who answered. The alert and every response are on the record afterwards.
Evacuation roll call
A manager starts a roll call from the Floor or Safety tab. Everyone on shift, and anyone whose badge was seen in the last two hours, is listed with their last zone. People are marked accounted for one by one until the list is complete. Because this is life safety, the roll call may name people in every location mode.
Switching it off
A property can turn the Safety tab off entirely. The badge hold then does nothing. Ask us before doing so at a hotel that has staff working alone. The setting lives with the property's switches, not in the app.
