Messaging channels
Harlow uses the channels a property already has to reach staff, and, where a hotel wants it, to answer guests. Staff always see what was sent.
To staff
- The app
- Every notification arrives in the app; the badge buzzes twice.
- WhatsApp and SMS
- For people without the app open, a short message with a link to the request. Sent from a business sender registered to Harlow, using message templates approved by the channel.
- Microsoft Teams
- Where a hotel runs Teams, Harlow can post to a team's channel and deliver to individuals, through an app installed in the hotel's own tenant.
- Approvals and the scheduled summary report go to the addresses the hotel sets.
To guests
Where a hotel turns it on, guests who write to the hotel on WhatsApp, SMS or email are answered by the front desk from the Guests tab. Harlow drafts, a person sends, and the thread stays with the hotel. The hotel is the controller of that data; see the privacy policy's notice for hotel guests.
What the hotel provides
- Nothing, for app notifications.
- For WhatsApp to guests: the hotel's own WhatsApp Business sender, which we help register.
- For Teams: an admin to approve the app in the hotel's tenant.
