Build the operating system for hospitality.

Harlow is a small team in the Mission, San Francisco, building software the world's most considered hotels actually want to run on. We hire people who care about taste, about reliability, and about the moment a guest walks up to a front desk.

Founding Engineer

Help us build the operating system that hotels actually run on. You will own real surface area, ship every day, and shape the product for years to come.

You will work directly with the founders out of our Mission office in San Francisco. We move quickly, write clear code, and treat reliability and security as first-class features because hotels around the world run their operations on what we ship.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and operate end-to-end product surfaces across the Harlow platform: agent runtime, integrations, dashboards, and APIs.
  • Own integrations with property management systems, channel managers, messaging platforms, and telephony providers.
  • Build the evaluation and observability tooling that keeps the agent reliable, fast, and trustworthy in production.
  • Take features from a customer call to a shipped, monitored product in days, not quarters.
  • Set the engineering bar for the team that comes after you: code review, testing, security review, and incident response.

What we are looking for

  • Five or more years writing and operating production software, with deep experience in TypeScript or Python.
  • Comfort across the stack: APIs, data, queues, infra, and a UI when needed.
  • Strong sense for product. You can read a customer conversation and design the right thing.
  • Calm under pressure. You enjoy debugging hard problems and care about the experience of the team on call after you.

Bonus

  • Built or operated agentic systems on top of LLM APIs in production.
  • Worked at a seed-stage company where you owned a meaningful slice of the product.
  • Background in hospitality, communications, or vertical SaaS.

Founding GTM

Take Harlow from a small group of design-partner properties to the default operating system for modern hotels. Own the customer story end to end.

You will be the first commercial hire and partner directly with the founders on every part of the customer journey: outbound, demos, pilots, onboarding, and growth. You will set the playbook the rest of the GTM team will run.

What you will do

  • Source, qualify, and close design-partner and early commercial customers across boutique hotels and small portfolios.
  • Run discovery calls and product demos with general managers, owners, and operations directors.
  • Own the pilot motion: scoping, success metrics, weekly check-ins, and conversion to paid contracts.
  • Build the inbound, outbound, and partnership engine: sequences, content, events, and channel partners.
  • Bring the customer's voice back into product every week. Sit in on engineering planning and influence the roadmap.

What we are looking for

  • Three or more years in a customer-facing GTM role at an early-stage software company (founding AE, BDR, or solutions engineer who wants more).
  • Track record of opening accounts and closing deals from cold, not just from inbound.
  • Sharp written and verbal communication. You are calm with operators and direct with founders.
  • High agency. You decide what needs to happen and then make it happen.

Bonus

  • Experience selling into hospitality, restaurants, retail, or any operationally complex business.
  • Built community, hosted events, or run a content channel that brought in real pipeline.
  • Interest in product and design. You will sit very close to both.

Write to us anyway.
